Abstract

976,202. Automatic record changing gramophones. MAGNAVOX ELECTRONICS CO. Ltd. June 7, 1963 [Aug. 31, 1962], No, 33558/62. Heading G5R. In an automatic record changing gramophone having an electric driving motor and a changecycle mechanism including a rotary cam disc which makes one complete revolution in each full cycle, the cam disc is driven from a wheel which is mounted coaxially with the turntable and is driven independently of the turntable from an idler roller which engages with the spindle of the driving motor or with a pulley mounted on the spindle. Fig. 2 shows the mechanism during the change cycle when the cam disc 6 is driven by an idler pinion 12 driven by a driving wheel 9 mounted concentrically with the turntable. The driving wheel 9 is driven from an idler roller 7 which is biased into engagement with the spindle 4 of the driving motor by spring means acting in the direction of arrow 19. The idler pinion 12 is mounted on a pin 16 movable in a slot 17 and spring biased in the direction 18, and at the end of a cycle it moves into a recess 18a in the cam 6 and disengages from the toothed pinion 11 attached to the driving wheel 9. At the end of a cycle, a pin 20 on the cam disc 6 moves a bar 21, causing roller 7 to disengage from spindle 4, and comes to rest against an end surface 23 of a lever 24. At the end of a record, lever 24 is rocked and the cam disc starts rotating under the influence of spring means (not shown) in the manner described in Specification 976,258.
