Abstract

975,551. Cigarette dispensers. H.G. ROTT, [trading as SCHOELLER & CO., ELEKTROTECHNISCHE FABRIK]. April 19, 1963 [May 5, 1962], No. 15448/63. Addition to 893,194. Heading B8P. The automatic cigarette dispenser of the parent Specification is modified in that an auxiliary control rod 101 has a lower speed during its advance to the igniting device than during its return. The improvement is applied to an embodiment substantially as shown in Figs. 13-15 of the main Specification. When the pusher rod 3 is moved forward, rod 101, which is counted thereto by a spring 102, also moves and the pawl 30 which is now mounted on this latter rod engages a pin 31 on the control rod 32. The rod 32 is coupled to an escapement 35 by means of a pin 203 and thus the forward movement of the holding claw and cigarette therein, which is controlled by the auxiliary rod 101, is delayed. At the end of the forward motion the pusher rod is locked by the pawl 29, the pawl 30 is raised to clear the pin 31, and the control rod returns under the action of its spring. A pin 210 on rod 32 then contacts a switch assembly 211 and energizes first the lighting circuit and then an electromagnet 204. This causes an armature 205 to pivot upwards and a surface 205b thereon to release the pawl 29. Rods 3 and 101 then both return, their motion being controlled by a helical spring 7 and bellows 201 with an air bleed 202. Should the energization of electromagnet 204 fail, a rod 207 provided on the front surface of the dispenser is pushed to urge a lever 208 towards the armature so that it pivots upwards. The rod returns under the action of a spring 209.
