Abstract
1285784 Electromagnetic contactors COMPAGNIE ELECTRO-MECANIQUE 31 Dec 1969 [31 Dec 1968] 63435/69 Heading HlN An auxiliary time delay contact unit for an electromagnetic contactor is provided with a linkage mechanism which can be adjusted between two arrrangements, one of which allows auxiliary contact operation on energization of the contactor electromagnet and the other of which allows the delayed operation on de-energization of the contactor. With the adjustment as shown in Fig. 1 a member 31 is secured by a screw 38 to a lever 29 pivoted at 30. When the slide 25 of the contactor is moved downward on energization a lever 23 moves a link member 231 to the right so that it acts on pins (39a, 39b) of the member 31 so that members 31, 29 turn anticlockwise to allow the bellows 1 and its internal spring 5 to move a member 7 downward as air enters the bellows by a throttle valve 10. Expansion of the bellows stresses a spring 8 which has its other end bearing on a contact actuator bar 19 which is retained by a lever 20 held by a latch 21 until the latch is released by the member 7 to snap the bar 19 downward and move contact bridges 15 to disengage one set of fixed contacts and engage a further set thereof. When the movement is reversed on de-energization a valve 6 opens so that there is no delay action. The needle valve has a surrounding filter 12. If the screw 38 is released and the member 31 adjusted so that the screw is in the other end of its slot before retightening the auxiliary contacts and the bellows will move to the other extreme position for reverse operation on energization of the contactor.
