Abstract

The invention comprises thioureas of the general formula: <FORM:0974545/C1/1> wherein X is a halogen atom or a C1-3 alkyl group, n is 1, 2 or 3, R2 is a C1-8 alkyl group or an allyl group and R3 is a hydrogen atom or a C1-6 alkyl group with the proviso that when R is methyl R3 is hydrogen and when R3 is alkyl R is hydrogen and the preparation thereof by reacting an appropriate substituted amine with the appropriate isothiocyanate. Pharmaceutical compositions comprise the compounds of the invention and an acceptable diluent or carrier. The compositions, which are useful as anticonvulsants, sedative, tranquillizing and antimycotic agents may be in the form of tablets or of solutions for parenteral administration.
