974,469. Electric selective signalling systems. VENNER Ltd. Feb. 28,1961 [Feb. 29, 1960], No. 7093/60. Heading G4H. A selective signalling system comprises a radio transmitter which transmits a carrier wave which may be modulated with pulses of one of two audio frequencies ("on" and "off" frequencies) and each remote location e.g. street lamps, controlled by the transmitter, comprises a transistorized receiver which includes two amplifiers tuned to the respective audio frequencies and feeding respective rectifiers whose outputs are connected to respective circuits for converting the received pulses into a voltage which increases step-bystep with each pulse supplied thereto, and which control a bi-stable circuit through respective threshold devices connected to the two halves of the bi-stable circuit. The arrangement is such that the input to a threshold device only rises to the threshold level if the number, repetition frequency, or mark-space ratio of received pulses of the corresponding audio frequency exceeds a predetermined value.
