A book-keeping machine having a document carriage and a control bridge carrying selectively arranged contactors which initiate actuation of calculating mechanisms at various stages of recording on the document, comprises an arrangement of switches (rt1... 9, spa1... 9) operated by the contactors in different combinations and energizing a corresponding combination of relays (B1... B9) controlling an output circuit (Fig. 2) having one or more output terminals (a... f) connected through one or more leads (RL) to a selected calculating mechanism (Z1... Zn). The rectifiers 1... 66 isolate individual leads RL.
