Abstract
772,307. Actuation of switches. INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS MACHINES CORPORATION. Nov. 16, 1954 [Nov. 19, 1953], No. 33141/54. Addition to 753,753. Class 38 (5) Additional selection is made possible in the selective switching device of the parent Specification by connecting the contacts of the controlled switch 40 in series with a changeover switch 70b ... d operated by the current responsive device. 70 sensitive to the controlling impulses. If the changeover is to be made a third control impulse must be transmitted simultaneously with the operation of the switch 40. As shown, the changeover contacts 70c, 70d are connected, respectively, to the latch release coil 80 and operating coil 81 of a selflat, dhing relay having a normally open contact 82. Thus if the third impulse is transmitted the contact 82 is closed and remains closed until coil 80 is energized upon the next operation of switch 40, this operation not being accompanied by the transmission of a "third" impulse. Specification 694,110 [Group XXXVIII] is referred to.
