Abstract
914,867. Electric programme controls. MASCHINENFABRIK HEID A.G. May 19, 1961 [Aug. 25, 1960], No. 18389/61. Class 38 (6). [Also in Group XXII] A control device for a machine-tool comprises a pulse transmitter which controls a sequence switch, a distributer panel for automatic electric switching of pre-given adjustable programmes for a plurality of chronologically succeeding steps, the transmitter consisting of at least one marked ruler, and a pulse sensing device associated with each of the rulers, each of the sensing devices being connected to the sequence switch. Rulers T, T<SP>1</SP> having slides 1-3, 1<SP>1</SP>-3<SP>1</SP>, are scanned by pulse sensing devices I 1 - I 3 , I 1 <SP>1</SP>-I 3 <SP>1</SP>, respectively, which may consist of limit switches or mechanical snap switches actuated by notches K on the slides, or of electronic switches actuated by lines or magnetic marks. Each operation of the sensing devices energizes a relay R 1 or R<SP>1</SP> 1 , which actuates a counting magnet ZM, through R 1 s, R 2 o or R 1 <SP>1</SP>s, R 2 <SP>1</SP>o and S40 which closes in succession counting contacts ZM1/ 1 -ZM1/ n . The latter apply voltage to horizontal working bars A of a distribution panel and vertical bars F can be plugged in to bars A by rectifier plugs GL to connect switches S6-S9 which act on magnetic clutches, positioning motors, hydraulic control valves &c. of the machine. To isolate slides 1 or 1 1 and make slides 2 or 21 effective, vertical bar SP or SP<SP>1</SP> of the panel is plugged to energize contactor S2 or S2<SP>1</SP>. Break contact S 2 o or S 2 <SP>1</SP>o cuts out I 1 or I<SP>1</SP>, and contacts S2, or S2<SP>1</SP>s prepares I2 or I2<SP>1</SP> for operation. Vertical bars ESP and ESP<SP>1</SP> are for high-speed movements and when these bars are plugged in, contactors S1, S1<SP>1</SP> are energized. Break contacts S1<SP>0</SP> or S1<SP>1</SP>o interrupt the energization of I 1 , I 2 or I 1 <SP>1</SP>, I 2 <SP>1</SP>, and make contacts S1<SP>s</SP>, S1<SP>1</SP>s and prepare I3 or I3<SP>1</SP> so that only slide 3 or 3<SP>1</SP> can transmit. When marks on the slides are not to be used for operative pulses the corresponding bars L1-L3 are plugged to energize contactor S4 and contact S4<SP>0</SP> is open so that magnet ZM1 cannot step forward. Magnet ZM2 is operated by contact S4<SP>5</SP> of contactor S4 and the number of non-operative pulses is registered by magnet ZM2, from contacts ZM2/ 1 -ZM2/ 3 . As soon as contactor S3 is fed by plug GL, and closed contacts ZM2/ 1 -ZM2/ 3 , magnet ZM 1 is again ready for operation. Sensing devices I 1 -I 3 , I<SP>1</SP> 1 -I 3 <SP>1</SP> as well as acting on relays R 1 , R 1 <SP>1</SP> also act on a safety relay which applies voltage to a time limit switch which acts on a circuit-breaker relay, unless the counting magnet has utilized the pulse within a pre-set time, whereupon the functions of the machine are interrupted.
