973,862. Disc brakes. A. AMADORI, and L. SITA, [trading as RUOTE AMADORI COLLETTIVA DI AMADORI & C.]. Feb. 23, 1961 [Sept. 7, 1960], No. 6612/61. Heading F2E. A disc brake comprises an integral housing 1 having a centrally slotted base and a pair of channel section legs 3, 4 defining a U-slot in which a disc D attached to a vehicle wheel may rotate, a pair of brake jaws 10, 11 being pivoted at 7, 8 to the legs and extending through the slot where they are connected for movement to brake the disc by a lever 14 pivoted at 22 on one jaw and a tie member 13 connected to the other jaw and to the lever. The jaws are retracted from the disc by springs 20 and the lever 14 is urged to the released position by a spring 21. Adjustment of the brake is effected by a nut 18 on the bolt 13.
