973,736. Moulding flowers &c. J. KRIER. Dec. 13, 1962 [Sept. 13, 1961], No. 32907/61. Heading B5A. A mould, particularly flower-shaped, for moulding confectionery or like materials, comprises an open mouth 16 and a plurality of elongated cavities 17 extending away from the mouth, each cavity 17 having at least one air bleed hole 18 at the end remote from the mouth. The mould is mounted on a metal plate 11 having a circular aperture 12 surrounded by a metal cylinder 13 which is contained in the outer wall 15 of the mould. The mould is made by covering a master representation of the object with a semi-liquid mixture of metal particles and synthetic resin; removing the master when the material has set to a stiff, but not solid, state and forming the bleed holes at the ends of the mould cavities. Alternatively, the tips of the petals are not covered so the mould has crescent-shaped apertures to serve as the bleed holes.
