Abstract
973,326. Conduits. A. HORN. Nov. 30, 1962 [Dec. 1, 1961], No. 45512/62. Heading E1C. A concrete sewer 1 has one or more longitudinal shallow trough seatings on the top thereof for supporting one or more subsoil drain or filter pipes of smaller diameter. In one form shown (Fig. 1) there is a single seating formed by a trough 11, with faces 12, for a pipe 50, with projecting edges supported by webs 15, webs 16 at the foot of the sewer 1 enabling it to be supported by the flanges 16. In a modified form the longitudinal edges of the seating have walls or ledges, which may have a tongue- and-groove joint with the sewer 1, which are then porous single-grain concrete. In another modification (Fig. 4) the sewer 1 and seating 30 are separate parts with co-operating locating ridges 10 and grooves 39. In a further modification the sewer 1 has a seating defined on one or each side.
