A roof support at the junction of a mine gallery with a branch gallery of smaller height consists of an angled bar 11 having one arm 16 held against the wall of the main gallery above the branch gallery and its other arm 17 held against the roof of the branch gallery by a prop 14. The prop support system shown forms the subject-matter of Specification 973,252. Specification 973,251 also is referred to.
