In a comestible coating device doughnuts D and powdered sugar are delivered by a conveyer belt 38 and duct 36 respectively into a rotating feed tube 26 whence they enter successive tunnel members 22 also supported by and rotated with an inclined barrel 20 having collars 21 engaging sets of flanged wheels 19 rotatably mounted on cradles 14, 17. The doughnuts are tumbled and coated with the sugar as they advance downwardly to semi-circular buckets defined by walls 52, 53 at the ends of the tunnels 22 and are discharged on to a perforated tube 42 through which unused sugar falls, and pass to a discharge conveyer 43. A screw 47 in a trough 46 transports the pulverulent sugar to a screen 49 for conveyance by suitable means back to the supply duct 36.
