A light screening grid for use with a tubular light source comprises pairs of substantially rectangular strips of material 1, 2 each strip having in one longitudinal edge 7 a recess 4 to accommodate the light source and also a first slot extending partly across the strip, the slot 21 in the strip 1 extending from the opposite longitudinal edge 23 towards the recess 4 and the slot 22 in the strip 2 extending from the recess 4 towards the edge 23 so that the strips 1, 2 can be assembled to form a cross, each strip having two additional slots 24 extending partly across it so that the pairs of strips can be engaged with similar pairs to form a grid. In each strip one slot 24 extends from each edge. They may be spaced apart to form squares of a size which will accommodate the lampholders of two aligned lamps.
