Abstract

The grating is composed of straight sheet-metal strips (10, 11) which are of the same width, are provided with slots and are fitted together in a crosswise manner. In order to hold the sheet-metal strips (10, 11) together after they have been fitted together, those regions of the sheet-metal strips resting against the slot edges, as well as the slot edges themselves, are provided with deformations (14, 16) engaging one in the other. After the strips have been fitted together, this results in a positively locking connection between the sheet-metal strips (10, 11), so that welding them becomes superfluous.
