972, 233. Illuminated signs. H. & S. ADVERTISING Ltd. Oct. 3,1963, No. 39037/63. Addition to 968, 800. Heading G5C. An illuminated sign comprising a casing 1, having a lid or cover plate 2 in which a printed poster 6 is sandwiched between a glass plate 5 and a translucent screen 7 for illumination from behind, has in addition at least one bevelled surface 4, 14 having apertures for receiving a frame member 16, which frame member comprises inclined slots for receipt of a translucent advertising strip 20, the strip being held in a plane parallel to that of poster 6 (Fig. 3). Both poster 6 and strips 20 are lit by fluorescent tubes 9. The member 16 comprises a frame 17 whose end walls 18 (Fig. 4) are pierced by slots 19, the slots being joined by grooves, running along the top and bottom members of the frame 17, which accommodate strip 20.
