Abstract

971,826. Wick burners. ALADDIN INDUSTRIES Ltd. Oct. 19, 1962 [Nov. 20, 1961], No. 41415/61. Heading F4T. A liquid fuel heater comprises an annular wick 1 contained in a space between an inner tube 2 and an outer tube 3 joined at their lower ends 5 and passing through a reservoir 4, one or more circumferentially disposed apertures 6 being provided in the outer tube 3 at the base of the reservoir 4. The closed end 5 constitutes a sump below the level of the fuel. To minimize the rate at which oil can spill from the heater if overturned the apertures 6 are only large enough to allow fuel to pass at a rate which will just sustain full flame operation.
