In an oil burner of the type comprising a pair of perforated cylindrical or elliptical members 6, 7 surrounded by a jacket 8 and supported on a channel 1 containing a wick 2 a perforated ring 13 is mounted between the lower end of the perforated member 6 and the jacket 8, and a perforated disc 14 is mounted within the lower end of the perforated member 7. The perforations and the thickness of the ring 13 and the disc 14 are such that a draught of less than 40 km. per hour does not cause the burner flame to be extinguished or to pass through the perforations. The perforated members 6, 7 are formed with corrugations 15, 17 for locating the rind 13 and the disc 14 and some of the perforations in the members 6, 7 may be below the ring and the disc.
