Abstract

Bronze powder of low apparent density is formed by atomizing molten bronze containing up to 2.5% calcium with an aqueous liquid such as water. Bronzes containing 90% Cu 10% Sn and 94% Cu 6% Sn to which calcium is added and atomized with the apparatus described in Specification 553,672 and examples are given of various bronzes containing different calcium contents and the screen analysis of the atomized powder. The pouring temperature of the molten bronze is 1200 DEG C.
