Abstract

970,862. Ice-making. J. OLDHAM. Sept. 29, 1961 [July 6, 1960], No. 23677/60. Heading F4H. [Also in Division B8] Moulds for forming ice lollies are introduced into freezing tank 1 at 6 up slope 16 into the compartment 27 of a shuttle 25. Shuttle 25 has two additional compartments 28 and 29 which have been previously filled with mould. The shuttle 25 carrying the three moulds is moved one step forward by fluid cylinder 35 so that compartments 27, 28, 29 come respectively opposite lanes 9, 11 and 13 of tank 1. Fluid cylinder 39 then operates to cause pusher 31 to move forward and advance the three moulds into the respective lanes. This causes the moulds in said lanes all to advance by one step so that the leftmost mould in the lanes 9, 11 and 13 pass into the compartments respectively 22, 23 and 24 of shuttle 20. The shuttle 20 is then displaced one step forward by fluid cylinder 34 to bring the three moulds respectively into the position shown opposite lanes 10, 12 and 14. Fluid cylinder 38 then operates to cause pusher 30 to displace the three moulds down the said lanes and so cause each mould in the lanes to be displaced rightwards by one step, and the rightmost mould in lane 14 to be discharged from the tank at 33. The cycle of operations is then restarted.
