Abstract

An electro-conductive glass composition consists essentially of, in percentages by weight, 10 to 50 of a substantially non-conducting glass, 20 to 85 of at least one metal and up to 60 or at least one semi-conductor. Suggested as preferred among many semi-conductors are silicon carbide and a mixture of SnO2 and Sb2O3. Silver and nickel are the preferred metals. Suggested glasses are A: PbO 75; B2O3 11; Al2O3 11; SiO2 3 and B: B2O3 22.5; SiO2 12.5; ZnO 65.0. A number of examples are given of the mixtures, using glass A, silver and the two suggested semi-conductors. A moistening agent such as a synthetic resin is used and the mixture fired. It may be used to form heating elements, printed circuits and like elements.
