Abstract
970,613. Control of motors. DRUCKMASCHINENWERK PLANETA VEB. June 8, 1962, No. 22325/62. Heading H2J. Relates to a safety circuit for the forward reverse and inching control of an electric motor which drives a rotary printing press. Actuation of an inching button b3 energizes auxiliary relay d1 which closes contacts d11 d12, to energize auxiliary relay d6 and time delay relay d7. A main relay c1 for forward operation is energized through contacts d61 until relay d7 releases contacts d71 in series with the coil of relay d6. The motor is therefore stopped despite continued actuation of the button b3 which must be released to re-set the relay d7. However, if relay c1 fails to release due to a mechanical fault, then contacts c12 remain closed, and main relay c2 for reverse operation is energized through contacts d21 of time delay relay d2. This causes rupture of the main fuses for the motor. Continuous operation of the motor in a forward direction is controlled by button b4 in series with auxiliary relay .d5 having contact d51 in circuit with push-button b1 and relay d2, and in circuit with interlock contact c21 and main relay c1.
