Abstract
The invention comprises compounds of formula (R1O)2P(S)SCH2SCH2CH2OC(O)NR2 R3 where R1 is C1-5 alkyl and R2 and R3 are hydrogen, C1-5 alkyl or phenyl. They may be prepared by reacting (R1O)2P(S)SCH2SCH2CH2OH with phosgene and reacting the product with R2R3NH or by reacting (R1O)2P(S)SCH2SCH2CH2OH with an isocyanate R2NCO. The products are pesticides (see Division A5). (C2H5O)2P(S)SCH2SCH2CH2OH used as a starting material is prepared from (C2H5O)2P(S)SCH2Cl and sodium hydroxyethylmercaptide in ethanol.ALSO:A method of killing pests comprises applying to the pest habitat an organophosphorus compound of formula <FORM:0970310/A5-A6/1> where R1 is C1-5 alkyl and R2 and R3 are hydrogen, C1-5 alkyl or phenyl (for preparation see Division C2). The compounds may be applied as dusts or sprays of solutions or dispersions. An acetone solution may be diluted with water to give an emulsion.
