Abstract

The invention comprises compounds of formula <FORM:0987378/C2/1> where R1 is C1-4 alkoxy, R2 is hydrogen or alkyl, X is oxygen or sulphur, and Y is oxygen or an N-aryl radical, specifically N-phenyl. They are prepared by reacting a compound <FORM:0987378/C2/2> with a phosphorus halide Cl2P(X)R1, e.g. in a dry solvent in the presence of an acid acceptor, e.g. a tertiary base. The products are pesticides (see Division A5).ALSO:Organophosphorus compounds of formula <FORM:0987378/A5-A6/1> where R1 is C1-4 alkoxy, R2 is hydrogen or alkyl, X is oxygen or sulphur, and Y is oxygen or N-aryl, specifically N-phenyl, are used as insecticides, particularly in combination with Malathion.
