968,827. Feeding sheets. ATLAS GENERAL INDUSTRIES Inc. Aug. 27, 1963 [Sept. 7, 1962], No. 33798/63. Heading B6B. Apparatus for separating box blanks from a stack thereof, includes a drive arm 25 pivoted at 26, a carrier head 32 pivoted at 29 to said drive arm, suction separators 30 supported by the carrier head, and drive means for imparting a complex oscillating motion to the drive arm, so that the pivot 29 moves in an arc 6 from I to IV, where the separators engage the stack, from IV back to V, to partially separate the foremost blank from the stack and permit air to enter therebehind, from V to IV, to jog the stack and assist in subsequent complete separation of the foremost blank from the stack and movement of the remaining blanks up to the retaining lips 36, and finally from IV back to I, where the blank is deposited on box forming mechanism. A channel-shaped guide 33 fixed to carrier head 32, engages a fixed pin 34, to rotate the carrier head anticlockwise, as viewed in Fig. 1, during movement of the drive arm in a clockwise sense about the pivot 26. The drive means consists of a rotating shaft 11 which oscillates an L- shaped member 15, pivoted at 20, by means of crank-arms 13, 14. A connecting rod 23 is pivotally connected to arms 17 and 27 of member 15 and drive arm 25, respectively.
