Abstract

968,740. Floor cleaning and polishing machines. SUNBEAM CORPORATION. April 24, 1962 [April 27, 1961], No. 15619/62. Heading A4F. A machine for polishing or scrubbing floors comprises a pair of floor treating brushes 34 having backing members 90 provided with interengaging external gear teeth 93 and internal gear teeth 94, whereby the brushes may be rotated in opposite directions by an electric motor 62 having a driving gear 73 engaging a gear 82 with which rotates a pinion 83 engaging the internal teeth 94 of one of the brush backing members 90. A container (not shown) for liquid polishing agent, having a valve controlled outlet tor supplying liquid to the floor adjacent the brushes, is mounted on the handle of the machine.
