[Also in Division B7] A support for conductive rails 10, provided with longitudinal grooves in their sides, consists of at least two elongated securing members such as 12, 13, 14 with interfitting projections and recesses such as 12a, 13b, 13a, 14b, to prevent rotation of the members, and opposed projections such as 12g, 13g, 14g which clamp the rails between them when a central nut and bolt, 15, 16 are tightened. As shown, part 12 has an integral shoe, which rests on a channel 11 forming running rails, and carries ribs 12i which are clamped to the lower part 11b of the channel by bolt 15 and nut 16, the nut being mounted in a bearing part 17, which is held captive in slots 12k by fins 17b. When the bolt 15 is tightened the rails are clamped between the insulators and the bearing part 17 forces the ends of the ribs 12i apart, clamping them, and thus the insulators, to the support 11. An insulating rail terminal member 20, which interlocks with and is bolted to a support, is described, Figs. 6-11 (not shown), together with a method of joining rail sections using such terminal members attached to supports and intermediate members, Figs. 9-11c (not shown).
