Abstract
A dichlorophosphoric acid amide having an alkyl substituted or unsubstituted vinyl group attached to the nitrogen atom is prepared by slowly adding an aldimine or ketimine of the general formula RN=CR1-CHR11R111, wherein R is an alkyl radical and R1, R11 and R111 are alkyl radicals or hydrogen atoms, to a solution of phosphoroxy chloride and a tertiary amine in an inert solvent at at least 30 DEG C. Preferably equimolar quantities of imine and phosphoroxy chloride are used with a slight excess of amine, advantageously 1.1 moles of amine per mole of chloride. The reaction is preferably performed at 50 DEG -150 DEG C. and suitable solvents are hydrocarbons, e.g. benzene, toluene, xylene and hexane. An Example describes the addition of N-propylpropionaldimine in benzene to a boiling solution of phosphoroxy chloride and thiethylamine in benzene to form N-propyl-N-(prop-1-enyl)-dichlorophosphoric acid amide.
