967,745. Making non-circular tubes; fenceposts; doors C. MALKMUS-DORNEMANN. Aug. 8, 1961, No. 28551/61. Heading B3A. [Also in Divisions E1 and F2] A tube 1 of triangular cross-section is formed by bending a sheet and bringing two opposite edges 2, 3 together which are bent outwards and one edge 12, Fig. 3, is bent over the other or the edges are joined by a flat or an angled channel strip 4, Fig. 1. The tube may be reinforced at the joining edges or the corners 15, 16, Fig. 3, by longitudinal bends. Reinforcing wires may be secured in the corners 12, 15 of the tube or the channel strip by bending the metal round them or by triangular plates transverse to the tube. The sides of the tube may be ribbed. The tubes may be grouped with their flat faces engaged to form structural elements. The tubes may also be used as fence posts, door posts end door frames, Figs. 7, 9.
