Abstract

966,649. Forage harvesters. HARRISON, McGREGOR & GUEST Ltd. Aug 25, 1962, No. 32729/62. Heading A1F. [Also in Division B8] A crop deflector 18 for the outlet end of a discharge shoot 13 of a forage harvester comprises a plate 19 having side walls 20 with outwardly extending flaps 21 and a channel member 23 welded to the plate 19 and adapted to support the deflector for pivotal movement about a vertical stud attached to a bracket 10 which is secured to the shoot 13 by bolts 11 for pivotal movement about a horizontal axis. The stud is capped by a threaded bar 17 to which is attached a cable 34 operation of which moves the deflector and bracket about the bolts 11 against the action of a tension spring 30. A further cable 29 secured to one side of the device operates to pivot the deflector about the stud against the action of a torsion spring 25.
