Abstract

966,586. Axle connections for laminated springs. VAUXHALL MOTORS Ltd. June 14, 1962 [July 20, 1961], No. 26252/61. Heading B7D. An assembly for clamping together the axle and a leaf spring of a motor vehicle comprises upper and lower resilient blocks 15, 16, shaped to fit the axle 1 and projecting lugs 21 formed thereon, and within casings 13, 14 which have flanges 17 and 18 and the lower casing having an aperture 23 which co-operates with a locating peg 24 on the top spring leaf, the assembly being completed by clamp plates 10 and 11 and bolts 12, clamp plates 10 holding in position a strip 25 upon which is located a resilient bump stop 26. In a modification, Fig. 6, pairs of U bolts are used in the clamping assembly. The resilient blocks 15 and 16 have flanges 19 and 20.
