To remove air bubbles chocolate is passed under pressure and at a relatively high speed of flow to the supply vessel of enrobing machines, e.g. of falling 'curtain' type, or to the pouring vessel of moulding machines. Liquid chocolate is passed up a pipe 2 by a pump 10 is forced into a narrow supply pipe 4 so that its flow rate is from 7 to 15 times greater than normal, e.g. 30-65 metres per minute, into the supply vessel 6 which forms the falling 'curtain' 8 which coats articles on a moving conveyer grid 9. A contact thermometer is provided in the pipe 2 for control purposes.
