Abstract
1,270,185. Coating apparatus. SOUTHWIRE CO. 2 Feb., 1970 [20 March, 1969], No. 4838/70. Heading B2L. [Also in Divisions B3 and C7] Wax is applied to a copper rod as it passes through a chamber 198 by a nozzle 205 (for construction see nozzle 39, Fig. 3 not shown) which directs a pressurised annular flow of liquid wax along the surface of the rod. Baffles 195 and 196 confine the wax turbulence passing from the nozzle 205 to within chambers 198 and 199 and a drain 208 allows any wax falling from the rod to be recirculated. An annular air flow from a nozzle 211 wipes the wax from the surface of the rod as the latter passes through chamber 200.
