An opening closable by a pivoted cover 17 is formed in a reduced pressure part of a vehicle roof and communicates with a trough 13 having an opening 14 so that when the vehicle is in motion air is extracted from the interior of the vehicle. External openings may be provided in the rear quarter pillars and communicate with nozzles to direct air to rear seat passengers or to demist the rear window.
