Abstract
964,048. Railing. A. COOK. May 1, 1963 [May 1, 1962], No. 16546/62. Heading E1V. In railing comprising vertical and horizontal rails 15, 13, 14, secured between posts 12, the posts are formed near their lower ends with brackets extending into the rails 14, and at their upper ends with cradles 16 on which the upper rails 13 are secured by bolting. The upper rails 13 are of channel-section and are covered along their length by a handrail 17 held in position by a screw device 32 engaging in a runner 39 which may also extend between adjacent handrail sections. The upper, lower and vertical rails 13, 14, 15 are of aluminium, plug-jointed together, and comprise preformed units or panels, the lower rail 14 being push-fitted on to its brackets.
