Compositions useful for selective weed killing in beet fields, comprise a mixture of (1) a salt, ester or amide of an aryl allophanic acid, e.g. 1,3-diphenyl-5,5-dimethyl-biuret and (2) a carbamate of the general formula <FORM:0963355/A5-A6/1> in which X is an alkyl radical or a halogen atom, n is 1, 2 or 3 and R is an aliphatic radical, e.g. CIPC or 3-methyl phenyl-but-3-yn-1-yl carbamate.
