963,344. Controlling vehicles. ROTARY HOES Ltd. May 23, 1963 [June 8, 1962], No. 22217/62. Heading B7H. A clutch control mounted on the handlebar 10 of a walk-type tractor or cultivator includes a safety member 34 which extends in front of the operator and is actuated by the operator's body to effect clutch disengagement if the cultivator overruns the operator when travelling in reverse. A hand lever 16 is connected to a clutch withdrawal lever 21 by a Bowden cable 18. Upon encountering the operator the safety member 34 releases an over-centre linkage 32 permitting a spring 28 to extend a movable anchorage 24 for the sheath 22 of the cable 18, thereby actuating the clutch withdrawal lever 21. Telescopic guides 25, 26 for the movable anchorage 24 may be formed with slots 37 to facilitate assembly of the cable 18.
