[Also in Division B8] A bed frame 10 comprises four telescopic legs 11, in each of which an inner part 16 is displacable in an outer part 17 by fluid pressure, and means to supply fluid to different leg combinations to raise or lower the frame 10 or tilt it towards either side or either end. The fluid may be either oil or air and a tubular cross-member 36 acts as a reservoir for this fluid which is supplied to the outer cylinder forming leg parts 17 via pipe 39, a pump cylinder 31, copper tubing attached to threaded spigots 30 on the legs, and bores 33, 34. There is a double seal 20 and an O-section sealing ring 21 at the lower ends of the parts 17. The pump may be a double-acting hydraulic pump with an actuating handle 41, and a selector valve 42 which can be set to determine which legs are supplied with or exhausted of fluid.
