Abstract
962,824. Packaging. DEUTSCHE GOLDUND SILBER-SCHEIDEANSTALT. Oct. 2, 1961 [Oct. 1, 1960], No. 35515/61. Heading B8C. Material in powder form, such as carbon black is de-aerated and compressed by rotating a roller having a perforated surface subject to vacuum in a hopper containing the material and compressing the material accumulated on the roller surface against a further surface. In one embodiment, two rollers 12, 13 have perforated surfaces and entrain the material between them. An element 115 controls the inlet thickness and scrapers 113, 114 remove the end product. In another embodiment (Fig. 2, not shown) a single perforated roller compresses the material against a plain roller.
