962,068. Rotary toothbrushes. A. VERDI. March 26, 1963 [Nov. 30, 1962], No. 45551/62. Heading A4K. In a rotary toothbrush, cylindrical brush heads 6, 7 are mounted on flexible spindles 3, 4 so that their distance apart can be determined by the thickness of the teeth with which they are in brushing engagement. The head 1 is detachable from electric motor casing 2 and dog clutches 11, 12 allow spindles 3, 4 to be disconnected contra-rotating spindles 13, 14. A guard 8 and compression springs 16 and 17 are provided. Alternative clutch arrangements and a brush having a non-detachable head are referred to.
