Abstract

961,633. Fireguards. GEORGE BAKER Ltd. June 6, 1963 [May 1, 1962], No. 16564/62. Heading F4W. A guard for a domestic fire comprises flat front panels in sliding engagement with each other to which flat end panels are hingedly attached. The flat front panel 10 slides in channel members 19 and 20 rigidly attached to the other front panel 11 to which the end panels 14 and 15 are hingedly attached at 12, top panels 16 and 17 being hingedly attached at 18 to the top edges of each end panel. The side panels are positioned at right angles to the front frame by hooks 23 and 24 engaging in eyes 25 and 26. The top panel 17 is held horizontal by hook 29 carried on the top channel member 19. The top panel 16 rests on 17, and is retained in position by metal straps 30. The complete construction, basically of wire mesh contained by rigid frames, forms an adjustable unit which may be stored as a compact flat assembly when not in use.
