961,166. Hop-picking machines. PERSONENVENNOOTSCHAP MET BEPERKTE AANSPARKELIJKHEID THEMILCO. Sept. 7, 1960 [Oct. 9, 1959], No. 30777/60. Heading A1F. A machine for stripping the strobiles off small hop bines comprises a large stripping drum 12 formed from a plurality of sections (Fig. 3) between which are pulleys 17 driven independently of the drum by belts 36 to form a carrier for gripping the bines supplied along the guiding plates 43 and 44, and two small stripping drums 26 and 27 which, relative to the carrier, rotate in the opposite direction to the large drum at a greater peripheral velocity. A motor 2 drives via pulley 5 the shaft 9 of the large drum 12 connected to which is a sprocket wheel which drives the small drums and another sprocket wheel which drives a shaft 33 secured to which is a pulley which drives the carrier belt 36. The bines, stripped of their strobiles are discharged over guiding plate 45.
