The multi-diamond dressing tool of the parent Specification has the individually-adjustable diamond-carrying slugs 12 secured in their holder 10 by means comprising a plurality of locking members 16, Fig. 3, or 24, Fig. 4, which are transversely movable relative to the slug axis by a common wedging member 17 movable in a direction transverse to that of the locking members so that, when the wedging members forced into its locking position, the locking members are forced into locking engagement with the slugs but, when withdrawn, the slugs are released for adjustment as required. When more than two slugs are used they are arranged symmetrically about the axis of the holder 10. Fewer diamond slugs than sockets in the holder may be used, dummy slugs of shorter length being inserted in the " blind " sockets. The embodiment of Fig. 3 shows balls in use for the wedging and locking elements but the operating screw 14 may have a conical mixer end to provide the wedging action when screwed inwards. In a further modification, Fig. 4, the locking members 24 are formed by short lengths of rod. These are preferably inserted into the radial holes of the holder before the slug-sockets are drilled in the holder so that their slugengaging ends are shaped to provide a bearing surface on the slugs, the inner ends of which are knurled to enhance the locking action. The inner ends of the locking members are cut at an angle to engage the wedging member; they may be shaped by a drill inserted in the screwed central hole of the holder. The Provisional Specification states that a larger ball is used for the wedging member than those used for locking the slugs.
