Abstract

959,694. Television; transistor clipper circuits. PYE Ltd. Feb. 5, 1962 [Feb. 16, 1961], No. 5782/61. Headings H3T and H4F. Relates to a circuit for separating synchronizing pulses from a composite television waveform utilizing a transistor TR1 to the base of which is fed the television waveform with the synchronizing pulses negative going, the transistor being biased via resistor R4 so as to be cut-off during picture signal periods and to conduct in response to synchronizing pulses. In accordance with the invention the time constant R6, C2 of the base circuit is arranged to be substantially equal to the time constant R3, C1 of the emitter circuit. This equalization of time constants is said to maintain the emitter-base D.C. potential difference constant during the frame pulse synchronizing period and ensures a constant amplitude pulse output during both line and frame synchronizing pulse periods
