[Also in Division E2] A latch bolt adapted for use in latching together two pivoted frame portions of a handbag frame has a mounting portion 12 which is adapted to extend through a slot in one of the pivoted frame portions and which is itself provided with a slot 14 through which extends in use a flat spring which is adapted to urge the 'bolt towards the latching position, the bolt also having a main portion 16 which is provided with abutment means which are adapted to co-operate with an abutment on the other pivoted frame portion, the bolt comprising a pressure die-casting, the slot 14 in the mounting portion being formed during the die-casting. In the construction shown, the abutment means is a wall of an aperture in an insert 17, The bolt is provided with a bevelled wall 20 which lifts the bolt when it engages the projection on the other frame portion to provide automatic fastening. A step 23 is provided on the bolt to enable the frame portion to be covered with a plastics leather or other covering. It also prevents the bolt being canted downwardly by the spring.
