Abstract
959,410. Dispensing liquids. VEEDER-ROOT Ltd. Aug. 14, 1962 [Sept. 11, 1961], No. 32589/61. Heading A4T. Pre setting mechanism for remote control liquid dispensing apparatus comprises a single pre-setting knob 1, a rotary change-over switch 14 for selectively connecting a quantity by volume rotary switch 10 or a quantity by money value rotary switch 9 into appropriate pre-setting circuitry, the knob actuated gear-train 4, 5, 6 for operating the switches and a link 16, actuated by the gear segment 11 on pinion 3, pinion 12 and link 15, coupled at its ends to shutters 21, for selectively covering or uncovering the quantity and money indicating wheels 22. Knob shaft 2 is rotated anticlockwise to operate the money switch and indicator for dispensing in terms of money values and clockwise for operating the quantity switch and indicator shutter for dispensing by volume. When the segment 11 is vertically beneath the pinion 12 and lever 15, neither switch is operated and the shutters cover both indicators so that the appartus is conditioned for manual dispensing. The mechanism may control the dispensing of different fuels to two or more nozzles.
