Abstract

959,273. Direct connections between conductors. PLESSEY CO. Ltd. Sept. 19, 1960 [Sept. 24, 1959], No. 32510/59. Heading H2E. To allow for various stresses and movements a moulded resistor track 2 has a terminal 3, electrically connected thereto by a deformable, conductor body 7 of silicone rubber loaded with carbon black. In a method of manufacture of such a resistor assembly, carbon black is added to an organo-polysiloxane solution and the mixture, the composition of which is given, is applied to the contact region of the tags, improved bonding being obtained by perforating the tag, welding metal gauze thereon, or by a bonding agent. The coated tag is inserted into a carbon enriched portion of the thermosetting resistor track and the carbon-loaded silicone rubber produced from the organic mixture by heating and curing the whole assembly.
