Abstract
956,910. Wire baskets. THOMAS BARKER & SONS Ltd., and G. L. COXON. Feb. 12, 1963 [April 13, 1962], No. 14316/62. Heading B8P. A basket comprises a base panel A formed from two crossed sets of elongated wire loops B with downturned ends D, the sides of such loops being welded together at their intersections, separate side and end wall panels F, G formed from upright wire loops H maintained coplanar by cross-wires K, L, welded thereto and two rectangular frames M, E of stouter wire welded respectively to the upper and lower ends of the side and end wall loops, the ends of the base panel loops being welded to the bottom frame intermediate the other loops attached thereto. To facilitate stacking, the bottom frame E has greater dimensions than the upper frame M and the side and end wall loops have their lower parts N joggled outwards for connection to the lower frame. The cross-wires on the end walls are formed from complete loops which extend round the corner of the end walls beyond the first vertical loop to fit between the cross-wires K which extend on the side wall as far as the outermost loop. The finished basket may be galvanized for protection.
