Abstract

Portable fire-extinguishers of the pressurized type are constructed by forming two cups from a thermosetting resin by moulding, the cups being capable of being sealably joined together, e.g. by a screw-thread to form a reservoir, one of the cups being formed with two apertures at or near its otherwise closed end into which a striker mechanism and a hose fitment may be sealed. Specified thermosetting resins are polyester and epoxide resins especially the so-called "Dough-Moulding Compounds" which may be reinforced, e.g. with glass fibre.
