Abstract
956,202. Bearings. FAFNIR BEARING CO. July 11, 1962, No. 26747/62. Heading F2A. [Also in Division B3] A bearing comprises an outer ring having a linear material bonded to its inner surface by a metallic bonding medium and an inner ring adapted to be positioned movably within the liner-material. The outer ring 10 is coated with a metallic material such as solder on its inside surface and a liner, which is subsequently bonded to the ring 10, consists of an anti. friction fabric material such as nylon, "Dacron," " Teflon," " Kel-F " or " Fluorothene " (Registered Trade Marks), and has a metallic thread such as copper woven on one surface 13 and a second metallic thread woven in the warp to provide electrical conductivity through the liner. The liner is bonded to the outer ring by applying heat and pressure, the inner ring 15 then being placed within the liner, and the outer ring and liner swaged around it, as shown in Figs. 3 and 4. The inner ring 15 has a part spherical surface to make the bearing selfaligning. In another embodiment, Fig. 8, the liner is preshaped, and a cylindrical outer ring 21, after the bonding process, is wired at 23 to the shape shown. Specification 956,201 is referred to.
